EAOP

Outcomes

EAOP has a proven record of success. Independent research and statistically significant studies show again and again that EAOP students are more prepared for college than their non EAOP counterparts.

Highlights

Coursework: EAOP students are twice as likely to complete the courses required for UC and CSU admission as their non-EAOP counterparts.

Exams: EAOP students take the SAT I and SAT II exams at substantially higher rates than non-participants.

Eligibility: The eligibility rate for EAOP students is more than two and a half times that of students statewide, 34% for EAOP students compared to 14.4% statewide.

College enrollment: EAOP students enroll in college at higher rates than non-participants, particularly those participants from lower-performing schools.

College Success: EAOP students comprise more than a quarter of the historically underrepresented students at the University of California. Their persistence rates are equal to or better than their campus counterparts.

"Students who participate in EAOP are twice as likely to complete the UC college preparatory coursework by the end of the 12th grade than students who do not participate in EAOP. There is a large, positive independent impact from participation in EAOP and the observed effect is not driven by selection."
