Students and Families

Student Selection Criteria

To be enrolled in EAOP, a student must meet at least ONE of the following criteria.

For a list of schools served by EAOP go to http://www.appris.org. If you are interested in participating in the EAOP program, call the campus office in your geographic area.

Criteria Measure

1. Low family income
  • Eligibility for UC application fee waiver
  • Eligibility for the Free or Reduced Price lunch program
  • Federal guidelines

2. Attending a school with limited college prep curriculum School has four or fewer AP Courses, and school does not have at least one AP course in each of these areas:
  • Math
  • Science
  • English
  • Language other than English

3. The first in one's family to attend college (first generation) The custodial parent does not have a baccalaureate degree from a US school or equivalent; and/or neither parent has a baccalaureate degree from a US school or equivalent.

4. Residence in a community with low college-going rates Less than state average by school district.

5. Attending a school with below-average SAT/ACT exam scores School average SAT I/ACT test scores are below the 50th percentile for California schools

6. Particpant in a Community-Based Organization (CBO) serving low-income communities and/or communities with low college-going rates Less than state average by school district.
